Version 3.8 Now Available

Approximatrix is happy to announce the release of Simply Fortran 3.8 for Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and GNU/Linux. This release incorporates a number of bug fixes and performance improvements. Development environment background tasks related to processing source files should no longer lock up due to issues with version control status checks in Git-controlled directories. These background tasks have also been optimized to decrease CPU usage and delays due to interaction with the development environment's main process. A long-standing bug on Windows that caused system-wide suppression of drag-and-drop operations has been eliminated. The console tab buttons on Windows have been fixed. Simply Fortran's shutdown procedure on macOS and GNU/Linux now relies on a timed thread to ensure program shutdown in a timely manner. The Windows Coarray Library was updated to support allocatable coarrays properly.
