Windows Bug Fixes Available

Posted on Sept. 12, 2023

New builds of version 3.31 are now available for Windows that correct a number of important issues reported by users. An issue causing Simply Fortran to close immediately after opening on Windows 11 systems with Avast Antivirus installed has been fixed. A interaction between how Simply Fortran stored settings and Avast's security hooks into Windows caused an Avast library to crash, automatically closing Simply Fortran as well. Build 3988 should now run as expected on Windows 11 regardless of the virus protection solution present. Additionally, all web views, notably the Start panel, in Simply Fortran now use Microsoft Edge as the rendering engine, which should fix cases where web views may fail to display entirely.

Menus in AppGraphics windows should now be redrawn whenever the menu is modified.

Aplot will now accept both single- and double-precision values when setting axis scaling.

Build 3988 of Simply Fortran version 3.31 is now available on the Download page.
